But I did pony up my $25 and register for the "Voice: Getting Your Fingerprints All Over the Page" workshop from Yellow Rose of Texas RWA. (Being a misplaced Texan myself, it felt sort of right registering through them!)
I'm pretty sure I struggle with voice. I think I have moments where I really can get into the "narrative tone" I'm trying to establish for a piece...but mostly I feel like I get in my own way and talk the way Harper talks and not the way a narrator in a romance story telling the actual story part should talk. Or are they one and the same?? Hmmm... Good thing I'm all signed up, right?

I'm thrilled.
On the writing horizon, there are a couple pitches coming up that might be worth checking out.

Submit your 2-paragraph blurb by February 1, 2010 for the Nocturne Bites editorial pitch. The link has more info about the editorial pitch itself.
Get your blurb in by February 16 for the Harlequin SuperRomance pitch. Again, the link has all your details.
I've got a manuscript I think might be ready for the bites pitch. It just depends on how hard I want to work between now and February 1. Ha!
I need to read more about Supers to understand the line. This might not be my forte this time around...but we'll see.
Happy Writing.
